Character Name: Ekaterina Iuliana Luminita Vladescu
Nationality: Romania
Gender: Female
Birthday: December 1
Age: 19
Education:
Dimitrie Bolintineanu High School in Bucharest (Elementary and Middle School—Age 6 to 13)-Ekaterina was a shy girl throughout elementary and middle school, often keeping to herself and rarely participating in activities during class. It was thought to be because of a mental disability, being mute or deafness; but this was found not to be the case. Her grades were kept high, despite the fact that she rarely talked to anyone or showed any public display of knowing the material
Saint Sava National College in Bucharest (High School—Age 14)-During her first year, Ekaterina showed immense interest in dance. She joined the dance team and was later that year given the chance, via her parents, to audition for a dance school in America. She was accepted and waited until the end of her first semester before moving in to the dorms at her new school in Washington.
Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C (High School—Age 15-18)-Ekaterina was ecstatic to start dancing professionally, though she wasn’t expecting the harsh training that came with working towards her goal. Ekaterina’s days began to fill with dance and studying, not that she minded. Her dreams of becoming a professional dancer were soon realized, as she was chosen for the lead of the ballet. Her talents continued to push her forwards until and after her graduation from the academy.
Occupation: Former professional dancer, currently a private dance teacher
Family: Father (Dragomir Vladescu) and Mother (Iuliana Boroi Vladescu)
Hometown: Bucharest, Romania
Starting Town: London
Brief History:
Born to a middle class family, Ekaterina had the full attention and love of her parents…for all of one month. Her parents, Dragomir and Iuliana Vladescu, owned a newly successful textile business that had taken off not too long after Ekaterina’s birth. With their new money, her parents hired several nurses and nannies to take care of Ekaterina 24/7 for many of the beginning years of her life. Because of this, Ekaterina doesn’t remember much of her parents at all. Being a rather energetic and rambunctious child, the nurses and nannies that she had thought it would be best to keep her preoccupied and put her energy to good use. So, at the age of 3, they enrolled Ekaterina in dance classes. The classes were short, only an hour, but were three times a week; enough to keep the energetic child at bay. The joy was short lived, however, because Ekaterina was enrolled in to early education. Ekaterina didn’t like school, having to sit for long periods of time and listen attentively, no questions asked. She spent most of her years in school bored, lonely and restless.
Once she reached high school, she joined the dance team on a whim. It seemed like she had suddenly come to life; her grades improved, along with her social life. Ekaterina had quickly become absorbed in to a world she had long forgotten. Excited about rediscovering her favourite pastime, Ekaterina trained every day to improve her skills and to one day achieve her new dream of becoming a professional dancer. With swift permission from her inattentive parents, she recieved the okay to leave her high school in Bucharest and go to a full dance academy in America.
The schools in America were very different than the ones she was used to in Romania, but she made do with what she had. The dance classes were intense and the formal classes were hard, but she was determined to stick it out. It was this hard work that landed her the lead in the school’s yearly ballet recital, and a spot in the American Ballet Theatre.
Ekaterina had a quick rise to fame in the dance world: a girl at the age of 17 had joined the rankings of the elite in ballet. Over two years, Ekaterina’s career was more than successful, and she was expected to wow audiences for years to come. Until one fateful day in December, on her way to a theatre outside of the city, the car she was in crashed. Ekaterina was hit by the seat in front of her, pinning her to her chair. Her window was shattered and small fragments of the glass had scratched her right eye, rendering it useless. With snow falling, blood on the seats, passengers and ground, Ekaterina was more than terrified. It didn’t take too long for the ambulance to arrive, but there was no saving her right eye. Along with that loss, she got a few small scars on her arms and a couple on her legs that would become permanent.
The dance world soon heard of the news, the story of the promising young dancer that was shunned by her theatre and left on her own in a foreign land. Ekaterina was unwanted by every dance company she auditioned for as they labelled her ‘lame’. She practiced for weeks, getting used to the loss of vision and to regain her bearings on stage. Even then, she quickly became the black sheep of the dance world. She traveled to London, seeking refuge from her plummet from fame in America. It was there she met Lars Van Dyke who answered her advertisement for a private dance teacher. With the promise of a steady pay, she left London to go to Amsterdam and teach his younger brother, Sven De Ryuter.
Personality: Ekaterina has a cheerful personality, often doing her best to look on the bright side of life and see things as ‘glass-half-full’. She, like most, though, has her moments where she remembers and dwells with the demons of her past. Ekaterina enjoys making other people happy and trying to help problems. She loves to spend her time with people, as he gets lonely easily. She is somewhat reserved to new people, but those who she gets along with see her true personality of being fun loving and happy.
Appearance: At a fair height of 5’6’, Ekaterina isn’t much to look at upon first glance. She has a thin dancer build and frame, with a lightly tan to her skin. She also blames her thin build for her small chest. Her dark brown hair goes just past her shoulder, long right side bangs also help cover her right eye; where she bears a scar that is often covered by make-up. Ekaterina’s left eye is a cerulean blue, a glass eye in her right socket made to match the other. She has a full back tattoo that she refuses to show anyone, it was recently completed.
Fashion Style: When possible, she prefers to lounge around in a tank top and sweat pants. Her usual street style ranges from tomboy to girly to hipster to gothic, all depending on her mood.
Goals:
[/li][li]To go back to professional dancing.
[/li][li]Find a boyfriend or a girlfriend.
Secret:
[/li][li]She has an entire full back tattoo of a koi ( www.tribaltattoo.ws/uploads/sexy-women-with-koi-fish-back-tattoo.jpg ) which she usually covers with a specially made skin tight body suit. She only needs to wear the suit when wearing clothes that expose any parts of her back. She finds her tattoo incredibly personal and rarely shows or tells anyone about it.
[/li][li]She doesn’t think she’s very attractive. Mostly because she can’t seem to get a date and because she’s worried that having one real eye might be a turn off or freak people out too much.
[/li][li]She has a hidden love of lip synching to her favourite songs in to a hairbrush.
[/li][li]Though her exterior is rough and tomboyish, she is secretly rather girly and likes to wear sundresses and make up with sandal high heels in the summer.
Other:
[/li][li]She gets a sick pleasure out of scaring people with her glass eye, especially having it fall out and letting people pick it up before telling them what it is.
[/li][li]She has prescribed glasses, but she hates wearing them so much, not many people even know she has them.
[/li][li]Despite years of dance, Ekaterina’s a tomboy to the core. She enjoys action movies, video games, watching things blow up, pranks, Sci-Fi and long boarding.

Quiet, you are not allowed to be noticed. Subtle, as if you were never there.
She knew the routine by heart and her body seemed to react without her noticing. Within a few seconds she had the large loaf of bread under her arm and she ran. Nothing got her adrenaline going like running after a theft. Nothing other than dancing, she guessed. Then she heard a sound, it pierced through her thoughts and brought her back down to earth. It was the sound of yelling and fast paced steps.
Damn, she had been caught.
Dashing around a building corner Ekaterina picked up the pace the best she could. Getting a tighter grip on the bread she began to twist and turn throughout buildings in attempt to lose the man chasing her.
Hopping over a brick wall, she stopped and greedily sucked in a breath of air. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and looked in to her arms at the prize of her hardships. She took a large chunk of the loaf and stuffed it in her mouth.
“MMMM!~ This is so good!~”
Sliding on to the ground, Ekaterina sat and enjoyed her small feast; courtesy of whoever made that delicious bread. She began to let her eyes flutter closed, when she hear some music from the distance. It was a peculiar tune, one she had never heard before.
Tired, she sluggishly got up and let her ears guise het to the mysterious music’s source. It seemed to be a long walk, but within a few minutes she had reached her destination. It appeared to be a circus. Upon closer inspection, Ekaterina found a small hole she could peek through from the side of the tent.
She saw a man, from the side she could see his snow white hair and what appeared to be eyes as red as a fine wine. Then, he turned. She saw tattoos accenting the one side of his face in a mysterious pattern. She felt her breath taken back by the sight of the man alone. He called this place the ‘Zirkus’ and announced himself as the Ringmaster. The Ringmaster called out the various acts, and one by one each person came out and thrilled her beyond belief. She had even gained an especially large smile when a knife thrower had come out, doing an art she had always dreamed of learning.
Ekaterina slowly began to pull herself away from her peep hole, as all the acts had ended. For some reason though, she felt her heart beating fast and her blood rushing through her veins.
She only ever got this feeling twice: When stealing, and when dancing.
She didn’t quite know what to make of it, but she felt the need to do something out of the ordinary. Maybe she would join the Zirkus.

Hello
I pulled the window up
And looked into the sky to say
How are you?
Alone between these walls
There's no one but me
Morning
And here the daylight is
Covered up with pouring rain
Tick-tock
Would someone please come by
And wind me up today
