Alright, so I know I'm not a particularly active admin. I have been pretty busy with college, since I'm graduating in the fall.
During our last activity check, we seem to have lost half of the people here. Half of them. I don't really know what's going on, but is there something I can do to prevent this from happening again? How can we make this place more lively?
I am open to all tips. Feel free to message me either on here or on Chatango. You can message me anonymously on Chatango if you want to. I really don't want to let this place die like this, so please talk to me!
Thank you all so much. If you missed the Activity Check, please message me ASAP.

I'm sorry ;; Well, I don't really know the history of this forum, and since I'm a new comer I don't want to sound nasty by any mean, so sorry in advance if I do. For my previous experience (given that almost every forum at some point loses people, sadly) there are a few things to try out: 1) PM desperately all the missing people pleading to come back 2) if they don't, re-advertise 3) try starting threads involving more than one character? Group threads, especially if the topic is hilarious/adventurous, are often something that will involve people more (at least in my experience) Since there should be the new event coming up, we could really agree on a group plot (maybe you already did that, I don't know). They should help the play more than one to one threads.
I'm really sorry to see this happening and even though I've been here for just a couple of weeks it would be too sad to see this place empty ;;

Thank you for your advice! ;u; Unfortunately, I've done all of these things before... I PM the people who don't come back from ACs, but I rarely ever get anything back. It was recently raised to my attention that I could email them, so I might try that? I tried to post an ad last night, but for some reason, it's not showing up. ;AAA; I have no idea what that's about, but it's a pain in the butt. The main comm can be weird like that. I don't really know where else to advertise, since this is my only site at the moment. I've done a couple of larger threads, but they're difficult to navigate, since they kind of depend on other people replying. However, we do have one in the works! As soon as we have all the information for the new group thread, it will be up! (It's about drinking and having fun, so it should be a good time) As far as a group plot goes, what sort of thing to you mean? We have events, but they're not really plots. I'm really interested in what you have in mind. Thank you again for replying ;u; <3 <3 <3

Ah, that's really unfortunate hmm most of what I would have thought to do you've already attempted alas.. though I do think a group thread or something would help. I've been wanting to do more around but terrible timing I guess.

You posted again in the main Hetalia LJ comm? There is also a specific community for RP ads: hetalia-rpad.livejournal.com/But what about posting an add on Tumblr? That might work as well (although you don't come across many links to RP boards, there... one could still try, though) What I mean with plot threads is that we roleplay with a defined plot in mind - or at least, the main lines of it (everyone is still free to have the characters do whatever they want inside, but at least the main points are decided) In the context of this roleplay it could as well take place in one of the event: there should either be a narrator or leading character whose roleplayer knows when the, uhm, plot-stuff has to happen, and leads the play, and all the other characters play along. For example, I don't know, a huge party or ball where everyone is invited and there is a dinner and everyone has to interact with the others but then something happens.. and I'm running out of ideas xD I'll give you a couple of examples of things I've done although the settings are very different. In one board, we're roleplaying this A. Christie's 10 little niggers' inspired thread. Only the two admins (who play two of the characters as well) know how the plot will go on, but each of the other characters has its role to play, and it's definitely fun. Or I've roleplayed fantasy AUs with a number of other players, and we decided the plot together step by step. One of them even acted as villain, kidnapped another, then the others had to go to the rescue... this kind of things. I'm not sure of what plot we could come up with in this context but it's certainly possible if someone is interested! (of course, this requires all the players to be actively participating)
