It was always nice to spend quality time with your best friend. No matter how you tried to break it down, there was truly no simpler joy. There was just something so uniquely special about the way two people, with practically seamless chemistry, could make the best out of even the worst of cirumstances.
To Antonio, sharing his time together with Afonso would always be priceless. From the serious to the down right ridiculous, the dynamic duo somehow always found a comfortable balance between sincere late night talks and afternoons spent burning takeout (which is a paradox in its self, since they are both highly capable of cooking) and laughing at poorly subtitled sitcoms.
Life has a way of moving on however, and lately they hadn't found much time for each other in their own respective worlds. Antonio had been swamped with work, staying late hours to afford the rent in his new apartment while balancing his relationship with his boyfriend while Afonso was in strikingly similar situation; but with an added new puppy as another layer of stress.
So, taking an evening to spend some time together doing something as simple as bike riding, was always appreciated. It allowed them to take their minds away from the complexities in their life and lingering dramas and just enjoy the sun and fresh air.
Securing his helmet around his head, bright emeralds glanced to his right, a playful smile pulling across his lips as he nudged Afonso in the rib with his elbow.
"Well, what do you think irmao? Wanna take that big hill?" Tenor voice airy with excitement, Antonio climbed over the tandem bicycle, straddled the leading seat as thin fingers curled around the handlebars. "Oh, and I'm in front~"

Friendship isn't a big thing-- it's a million little things. -- Anon {?}
... who wrote that again? Afonso couldn't remember for the life of him, but it was; without a doubt, one of his favourite quotes. Friendship really was a whole bundle of little things, individual precious little things. That's what made it special, in Afonso's opinion anyways.
Afonso hadn't known Antonio for too long at all, and their first encounter was pretty much by chance, {or perhaps a kind stroke of luck.} -- Afonso could have asked anyone in that busy square for directions to the Madrid Town Hall-- but they got along like peaches and cream. As far as Afonso was concerned, the man was like the brother he never had.
They were pretty much inseparable. But life had her way of throwing up obstacles for people to cope with, and priorities had to be taken into account, and he hadn't had much chance to talk to Toni as of late.
The last few weeks hadn't been particularly kind to Afonso, but things were starting to look up again. Work was beginning to quiet down to a manageable level, Gaufres was losing weight and Sven was beginning to gain some back after returning from the hospital.
The improvement was more than welcome, but progress wouldn't come overnight, and the opportunity to distance himself from everything for a short while for some well overdue friend-time couldn't have been better timed. The evenings in Amsterdam were pleasantly mild, and Afonso was quite looking forward to going for a bit of cycling-- he could do with the exercise, and the fresh air.
He couldn't find himself a helmet, and he could barely remember the last time he'd mounted a bicycle; but really, what was the likelihood of him falling from such a sturdy thing, right? He figured things would be just fine.
"Aaah~? Sim, let's go for it!"
"Oh, and I'm in front~"
"Yeah, yeah-- of course you are."
Truth be told, Afonso didn't really mind which seat he was perched in. The back was perfectly fine-- actually, no. The back was better. Antonio probably had a better idea of what he was doing and where to go anyway.
Afonso took a moment to toss his leg over the seat before settling on the thing and squeezing at the brakes a couple of time before calling back to the other.
"Ready irmão?"
[ooc ;; jkdakhja sorry this is so late fork i don't even-- dajslkj. let me know if anything needs tweaking! <: ]
