Brief History: Elizabeta was born in Budapest, Hungary to a young salesman and his wife. For the first few years of her life, the three had a perfectly normal and happy relationship. However, their bliss was not to last. Elizabeta’s father traveled often for his work, requiring the family to move almost constantly. Her mother, tired of constantly having to restart her life, eventually grew tired of their nomadic ways. The two divorced shortly after Elizabeta’s fifth birthday.
Elizabeta’s world changed after the divorce. She became determined to make her father proud, wanting him to cheer up. Having overheard him say he wished for a son at one point, she made it her mission to become a boy. She cut her hair and started playing more and more with her male friends. Her dolls were discarded for balls, her dresses replaced by baggy pants. For years, she was convinced that she could grow a penis.
Eventually, her father noticed the odd ways of his daughter. Upon hearing her story, he burst into laughter. He explained to her that, unfortunately, biology did not work that way. More importantly, he said that although he had wanted a son, he loved Elizabeta for who she was. She didn’t have to try to be a boy for his sake. Though stunned by this revelation, a sort of burden lifted from Elizabeta’s shoulders, and she eventually found a happy medium between her male and female sides.
At the age of 18, Elizabeta made the difficult decision to move to the United States to attend university. While she missed her home dearly, she quickly settled into her new life. Initially, she came planning to study business and follow in her father’s footsteps as a successful saleswoman. However, after taking an elective course in journalism, she fell in love with writing. Thus, she became a budding reporter, wanting nothing more than to share the latest news with everyone. After graduating, she quickly found a job with a small paper. While not a glamorous job, she is grateful for it none-the-less and enjoys it immensely.
Personality: If Elizabeta were to be described in one word, it would be tomboy. Having grown up with no mother and mainly male friends, Elizabeta quickly learned to become one of the boys. Her language at times is crude and short, and she is not above getting down and dirty to accomplish her goals. She loves being physically active and won’t hesitate to use her strength to make a point.
This is not to say, however, that Elizabeta lacks a feminine side. Elizabeta loves baking and gardening, keeping a few flower boxes on the windowsill of her flat. While she prefers comfort when choosing clothing, she loves to window shop and having opportunities to dress up in one of her fancier dresses. While a perfectly intelligent and rational young woman, Elizabeta can become a tad boy crazy if she finds a male she particularly likes. A romantic at heart, Elizabeta secretly longs for her knight in shining armor.
Despite being an only child, Elizabeta was never spoiled growing up. Rather, she was taught to take care of herself and learn about life by experience. Looking back, she is thankful for these lessons. Elizabeta relishes her independence and her strength. She is still very close to her father and care deeply for him.
Always quick to make friends, Elizabeta has a natural charisma that has helped her form lasting connections with others. She loves to chat and always stays current on the latest gossip. She hates to see others upset and will always lend an ear to those in trouble. To her younger friends, she tends to be something of a surrogate big sister. However, those who end up on her bad side will find she has a rather short temper and an impulsive streak.
Appearance:
Elizabeta is a somewhat short and petite young woman. While not muscular, she is decently toned and stronger than she appears. Her light brown hair falls a few inches below her shoulders, the locks ending in a bouncy wave. She generally wears it slightly curled and down. However, she is never without a flower tucked behind her ear, usually a lily or a tulip. This habit comes from her mother, who always loved fresh flowers. Her green eyes are very expressive, ranging from a friendly warmth to a burning rage depending on her mood.
Fashion Style: Elizabeta's style could best be described as casual chic. Her most common outfit with be a simple scoop neck blouse with a knee-length skirt and a sturdy pair of boots. Most of her outfits have shape but aren't form fitting, as she values comfort as much, if not more, than style. She loves earthy tones, especially greens, but also mixes most shades of pink into her ensemble. She also has a love affair with scarves, and will commonly throw one around her hair on windier or hotter days. Normally, she wears little makeup unless she is trying to impress someone or at a formal event.
Goals: Elizabeta would love to someday be a Pulitzer prize winning journalists for a world renowned newspaper. A more personal goal would be to save up enough money to visit her father, who she has not seen since she left Hungary for university. Ever the romantic, she longs for a good man to settle down with and have a large family, perhaps a product from her own small and separated household.
Secret: Elizabeta has a special frying pan which she uses on any man whose hands wander a tad too much for her liking. According to her, it also makes the perfect French toast every time.
Elizabeta is also an unabashed fan of boy-on-boy action. She has a secret collection of dirty books and her own special collection of photographs hidden in a box in her closet.
Other: Elizabeta has a second love for baking. Her favorite dish is dobos torta. However, she occasionally binges too much on her sweet tooth, resulting in long, rigorous hours at the gym in an attempt to save her figure.
RP Sample: (This is from a previously done post-apocalyptic zombie roleplay)
The stench of charred and rotting flesh invaded Elizabeta’s nostrils, nearly causing her to choke. She recognized the smell all too well. It had become common practice to burn the dead in an attempt to keep the infection from spreading. In any case, there was not enough space to bury the dead with so many fresh zombies each day.
Elizabeta blinked, trying to keep the water out of her eyes. She tried to reassure herself that it was just the smoke, that she wasn’t crying again. She couldn’t afford to break down now. She had to keep moving, lest she end up another corpse in the pile. She owed her people that much after her failure to protect them.
She shifted the weight of the pack on her shoulders, mentally going over it contents again. Ammo. Dried food. Flashlight and batteries. Blanket. Canteen. Survival knife. There were many other things she wished she could take with her, but they would only slow her down. Perhaps a part of her hoped she would be able to return someday and retrieve them. She sighed, looking around her beautiful capital for one final time. She did not see the ruined buildings and the empty streets. She did not see the polluted river or the blood splattered everywhere. She saw it full of life and color, the gem it has once been. The gem that it would be again if she had anything to say about it. She stood there for a few moments, lost in her memories of better times, before reluctantly heading out to face reality. Her capital was no more, and if she did not get moving, she would be next.
