Hometown: Valencia, Spain
Starting Town:Paris lol jk Amsterdam
Brief History:
Antonio grew up in modest home in Spain on the Mediterranean coast in the city of Valencia to his parents and older brother. Raised in a strictly Catholic environment, Antonio has always been taught to be respectful and kind to others; the basics needed to becoming a generous and respectable member of society. Despite strong religious undertones, Antonio has always remained open minded and accepting.
Antonio is grateful to have grown up in a family with a fair amount of normalcy. Having a strong relationship with his brother and mother and to a slightly lesser extent with his father, there were little fights or drama between any of them.
When he graduated High School, Antonio enrolled at the University of Madrid where he first met Lars Van Dyke as a Junior. Half way through the year, the duo hit it off and quickly fell for each other. However, due to unfortunately circumstances regarding their sexual orientation, they were forced to drop out. Full heartedly devoted to one another, they planned to move to Amsterdam to start building their future. Upon explaining to his parents about his plans relationship with the Lars they promptly disowned him, refusing to accept a gay son. This was a pivotal event in Antonio's life that he never quite got over.
Currently, Antonio shares a studio apartment with his lover in Amsterdam, where he works obscene hours in order to make ends meat.
Personality: Antonio never hesitates to offer his assistance or help. Even if the situation may be of a huge inconvenience, he will still sacrifice his time and energy to help someone in need. Almost to the point of being thoughtless, Antonio instinctively drops what he's doing if he sees someone in pain or struggling. He has an extremely low tolerance for watching other people suffer and would much rather take the burden upon himself. His readiness to put others before himself is one of his major weaknesses as well as strengths.
Antonio can be overly forgiving, and as such is painfully oblivious to people taking advantage of him. He will not hold a grudge against others regardless of the extent of their trespasses against him. His philosophy is that you must forgive others not for them but for your own sake, coming from an old arab proverb "Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace". The Spaniard will automatically assume that others are as pure intended as he is and is easily gullible to ulterior motives.
An all around sweet guy, one will always catch Antonio going the extra mile for no particular reason. From picking up that stray piece of trash on the ground, giving up his seat on the train and even holding the door for a stranger, there isn't a mean or cruel intended bone in his body.
Having a generally lighthearted and almost whimsical presence that can be contagious at times, Antonio is a ll around A happy-go-luck kind of guy. Always trying to look on the bright side of things, he will be the first person to break any serious tension with a dopey smile and a kind, encouraging comment. He can seamlessly stifle his own unfortunate circumstances and most daunting obstacles with a warm heart and positive attitude. Antonio's persistently high spirits have a tendency to rub off on those around him.
Antonio is a very sympathetic and empathetic man but he can also be grounded and realistic. He takes pity on those who are forced to suffer through something painful and always tries to offer a shoulder to lean on with some gentle albeit practical advice. He will not hesitate to be the one to give a friend a reality check in his own gentle way. Antonio puts things into perspective and won't be afraid of telling someone to stop feeling sorry for themselves or to take intiative in their lives.
Having been down a rough road himself, it is one of his biggest pet peeves to see someone complain about their circumstances when they are being entirely ungrateful and doing little to actually fix their problems. As nicely as possible, the brunette will remind them that things could always be worse.
Very little of what Antonio owns in his life has come without hard work. He knows when it's time for play but also when it's time for work
Antonio is the wear-your-heart-on-your-sleeve type of guy. He doesn't do well masking how he is feeling or what he is thinking, and to a particular point he doesn't really try to. He was raised to be honest, and at times his bluntness may come across as being rude.
Despite the many hardships Antonio has been forced to face, the brunette still manages to possess an air of innocence about him that can be mostly seen in his oblivious nature. Easily mistaken for being dim-witted, the Spaniard may have no trouble solving a calculus equation but at times has a hard time putting two and two together when it comes to human behavior. Almost childish in his beliefs, Antonio doesn't understand why people try to hide behind false pretenses and claim to be okay when they are far from it. When others put on a mask around him, it usually flies straight over his head.
Antonio is blessed with the patience of a Saint. Willing to wait for long periods of time, even if doing so may be emotionally or physically taxing, he always believes a good outcome is always worth the time he puts in to it.
There is little to nothing Antonio wouldn't do for some one or something once he deems them a friend or worth while. Be it his time, money or even his life, the Spaniard won't hesitate to sacrifice any of his means for the greater good.
Stubborn about carrying his own weight, Antonio will very rarely ask a favor, and as such won't cry in front of others unless he is completely comfortable with them.
When hurt, he tends to laugh it off until he can find the solitude to let out his sorrows, refusing to push his emotions on others to bear. He is intrinsically motivated and does not require a reward to his actions.
At heart, Antonio is a helpless romantic that will unconditionally devotes himself to his lover. giving them everything he is and has. Faithful and passionate, when it comes to matters of the heart, he never half asses anything and puts himself completely in a relationship. Sincere and maybe at times over the top, Antonio likes to lavish his lovers with compliments and make them feel like there is no one else in the world he sees.
Appearance: Standing at approximately 5’10 the Spaniard’s frame is nothing but lean lanky muscle and tendon, allowing him to retain a slender yet ultimately toned physique. Antonio’s skin normally radiates a healthy sun kissed tan that can range from a pale olive to a warm caramel depending on his amount of sun exposure or the season. His eyes are a rich, expressive emerald that effortlessly communicate his warm disposition and cheerful personality. At times this can be both a blessing and a curse since Antonio is blatantly honest and unfiltered when it comes to his emotions to the point of being easily readable. His face is framed by a short, usually rustled mop of deep chestnut-brown locks that begin to curl outwards towards the tips and give him a somewhat boyish demeanor. Antonio has always had a young looking face and commonly gets mistaken for still being a teenager.
During his childhood, Antonio got jumped by a bunch of neighborhood kids. When they pushes him to the ground his cheek was cut open by a rock. Although, the scar its self has healed, the wound left a small diagonal dent that shows whenever he smiles, because of this most people mistake it for a unqiue dimple. However, he is still extremely self conscious of it, and tends to cover his cheek when nervous.
Fashion Style: Antonio doesn't put much thought into his appearance. Usually just throwing on a pair of jeans and a simple v-neck shirt, the Spaniard has no real understanding of proper fashion, but knows enough to still look presentable. Antonio prefers to not wear shoes whenever he is given the chance, choosing to parade around the house or even in his backyard barefoot, a small habit that stems from his childhood. Prone to getting cold easily, Antonio usually brings a hoody or simple cardigan along with him.
His style is simple and not particularly thought out, however Antonio was never one to focus much on one's appearance to begin with.
Goals: To Antonio, music is the ultimate form of expression. He loves listening to music as well as making it himself. He'll usually hums a small tune under his breath when performing a mindless task and enjoys singing in the shower. Antonio aspires to one day become a famous singer not just for the fame but because it's his one true passion. He wants to use his musical talents to send out a postive message to people.
Secret: Antonio has never thought highly of himself, a fact hard to notice behind his cheerful personality.
Other:
-Since a young age Antonio has been diagonosed with narcolpsy. Promptly able to fall into a deep sleep (a REM state) when physically and mentally exhuasted, he can knock out practically anywhere. To quell any common misconceptions he won't fall asleep in the middle of walking down the street or standing. He has to be in a comfortable position, be it sitting or laying down before his narcolyptic nature can take hold of him. He has been known to fall asleep in the bath and on the train.
-He loathes his medical condition and takes medicine to reduce the likelihood of an attack.
-When feeling apprehensive, Antonio babbles, going on a tangent about things that may or may not be entirely related to what the original subject was.
-Antonio loves tomatoes. A popular ingredient in Spanish food, he greatly enjoys their taste and the person momentos they carry.
RP Sample:
The sky was still blushing a gradually vanishing pink as Antonio's eyes fluttered open with a leisurely flicker of thick eyelashes. Sparing a glance to the small window to his right, that was barely more than a petite hole in the wall, the brunette noted the sprinkled raindrops that chased each other down the smooth surface of the glass in irregular streaks.
"Rain?...." Tenor tone, hoarse with sleep, the Spaniard resisted the urge to roll back over into the warm sanctuary of his sheets and allow the gentle 'pitter-patter' of the falling rain to lull him back into a dreamless sleep.
On any other occasion, Antonio would have submit to his lethargic tendancies, after all it was Sunday and there were few activities that required his immediate attention. However, today he wanted to try that humble little coffee shop that had just opened on the corner of Plaski and Lincoln, and if he wanted to beat the morning rush he would have to get up now.
Sleeping in would have to remain a bitter-sweet longing until later, more accommodating days rolled around...
Swinging his legs over the simple bed, the emerald eyed man stretched his lean limbs until a satisfying pop sounded, loosening his muscles and pulling a contented sigh from his lips. Rising to his feet, Antonio wondered around his small apartment washing up and getting dressed with the practiced ease of his monotonous morning routine. Pulling on a fitting pair of jeans and a simple black v-neck, Antonio made sure to dress in boots and a warm jacket.
He would not be the fool who caught a cold because he didn't bundle up on this dreary December morning. It was still not quite cold enough to snow, the temperature teetering just a few degrees above freezing so the inhabitant of the city were forced to still endure finger nipping cold and icy water which was an all together very uncomfortable experiance.
Wrapping a fluffy white scarf areound his neck, Antonio slipped out the door without further preamble, popping open his red umbrella and heading down the street to the new Starbucks, one of his college textbooks tucked discretly under his free arm.
It was easy to lose one's self in the rain, Antonio decided, staring up at the heavy clouds that seemed to bleed into each other like an expanding sea of watercolor. Different shades of gray and white melted into one another, smeared together by a grand, unseen paintbrush of the gods, spilling fresh water to quench the earth's hunger. It was almost poetic in its naturalistic beauty, if you ignored the cold that is.
Smiling to himself, contently mellowed out by the tranquil weather, the Spaniard slipped inside the cozy sanctuary of the coffee house, face tingling as a euphoric gust of warm air enveloped him.
Wandering over to the counter, the brunette squinted up at the menu, a tiny smile tugging at the corner of his supple lips.
"May I have a vanille latte with so-........."
It's hard to complete a thought... when you're standing before one of the most beautiful people you've ever laid eyes on.
The other male was standing calmly, expression distant, standing behind the counter with an imposing grace. Fair, porcelain skin seemed to glow beneath the small lamp nearby, hauntingly flawless, as if sculpted from the finest ivory. Golden eyes, glimmered like endless jewels, sharp and striking. Ash blonde locks were cute short, trailing up his neck until longer strands fanned out in an almost gravity defying manner. A bizzare, but ultimately fitting hairstyle, that Antonio suddenly longed to
run his hands through. Wondering, if it was as silky and soft as it appeared to be. This man was frighteningly handsome.
The brunette cleared his throat, a light blush dusted across his cheeks.
"With soy milk...."
